Assumpta O’Kane is a Developmental Psychologist working in Business Organisations. She is a Researcher, Author, and Facilitator of transformation in adult and organisational development.
As Founder of ‘Transformative Conversations’ I work with individuals and teams who believe in growing their internal capability as the route to leadership and management. “I have identified the ways in which people can develop and change and am recognised for creating a trusted environment where people can come at life through challenge and dis-ease – as well as with support and confidence’. Ultimately development means we don’t get stuck in old habits and outdated ways of seeing the world – but that we are able to adjust our ‘way of looking at things’ – and therefore can see things more clearly, more completely.
Prior to running my own organisational development practice I was Head of Organisational Development in the manufacturing business of Pfizer Ireland Pharmaceuticals for over 10 years. I worked with Price Waterhouse Coopers both in Ireland and the UK on a wide range of Organisational Development projects for 5 years, and was HR/Recruitment Manager at BDO Binder Hamlyn in London for 5 years.
I recently co-authored ‘The Leadership Mind’ (2022) with Professor Connell Fanning which presents a new innovative way of thinking about leadership as a developmental process to better operate at the increasing uncertainty and complexity of the world and to deal more effectively with the business, social, and political challenges of today.
